William (Bubba) HeadWilliam (Bubba) Head, one of the nation’s top criminal defense attorneys, is representing rapper Lil Wayne following an arrest last Friday night.

Lil Wayne was arrested after a concert at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho, by local police due to a felony warrant issued in Atlanta.  The 25-year-old hip-hop star, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Cater, Jr., is wanted in Fulton County after failing to show up for two court hearings over a 2005 drug-possession charge.

Lil Wayne ArrestWayne was arrested in Atlanta in August of last year after getting caught with marijuana and prescription pills that were not in the proper containers. He could not prove at the time that he had doctor’s orders for the medication. Wayne was declared a fugitive after missing two court hearings due to this case.

Wayne was booked in the Ada County Jail on the charge of “being a fugitive to Idaho.” He was released on $10,000 bond after spending the night in jail.
Wayne must appear in Fulton County Superior Court no later than Thursday.
Head said that Wayne did not know about the hearing because he had not been to his home in New Orleans to check his mail in months, due to his intense tour schedule. Head also stated that Wayne and his handlers were not notified that he was expected to attend a hearing by his previous attorney.

Atlanta’s Top DUI AttorneyHead, better known as one of Georgia’s top DUI attorneys, has earned “The Gladiator” as a nickname in the Georgia court system. He is licensed to practice law in both Georgia and South Carolina. Along with Head’s extensive knowledge of criminal law, he is an active member in many law organizations across Georgia and South Carolina, as well as a distinguished author in law publications.

Lil Wayne, who is up for three BET Hip-Hop awards, including Hip-Hop MVP of the Year and Hip-Hop CD of the Year, is expected to make it to the BET awards next week, according to Attorney Head.
