Question: What Can You Do To Be Proactive About Your Pending DUI Case In Georgia?
Answer: In our office we would generally ask you to get an evaluation. After you retain us, we would advise you to go get an alcohol and drug evaluation, to go speak to a counselor to see if there is an alcohol problem, to go ahead and knock out some community service, to also go ahead and attend a DUI school. It’s not an admission of guilt to do any of those things, however, even if your case is reduced to a reckless driving or non-DUI disposition, every jurisdiction that I’m aware of, in almost every case, will make you do a very similar type of penalty as if you had been convicted of a DUI. So they oftentimes make you do that, and it is better to be proactive than to wait for the court to rule.
